So after my day of battling ink and ticks, I returned to Banning State Park with Katherine and we hiked for about a mile or so along the river and set up shop. We climbed out onto some rocks and found a good spot to set up out easels. Seeing as how I had fulfilled my weekly assignment, I decided to delve into some watercolor. I’ve only used watercolor a handful of times in the past, so I was wanting to see if I found it nearly as frustrating as ink. In the end I actually felt far more comfortable with watercolor than ink. Ink is so unforgiving. I’m still not happy with this.. but I do enjoy the reflections of the shore line in the water. Until next time.

you did such a great job of simplifying what you see so that the image makes sense and doesn’t get overwhelming. I was looking at the same view with my pastel assignment and mine got way too busy… I like how the water turned out as it touches the shore or the stone ledge, it’s really beautiful and dimensional.
