I feel like I accomplished something this week, but when I turn around and look for the work to show for it, there’s nothing. I got my sratchboard done, that’s good, but it wasn’t really a neglected project. I also got a few more entries in mine and Drew’s journal, since I’ve held onto it for far far too long. But I didn’t finish either of the paintings I’ve had in mind, I didn’t even start either one. And I made no progress on framing or starting paintings that a couple people have commissioned from me. So really, I kind of failed this week.
But why? And why did all of us seem to have such trouble actually using this time we gave ourselves? Granted, Katie did get a lot done on her costume, so maybe it’s just Mike and I that have issue. I just wasn’t really interested in any of that stuff this week; I wanted to do something fun, something different, and nothing that I had on my to-do list grabbed my attention in any way. I’ll have to work on that.
Anyway, kinda boring week art-wise, nothing to show, but coming up next week: Macro! I’m excited, I’m already trying to decide on a medium and subject – plant? animal? industrial? Should I use something soft and wet or hard and precise? Maybe something completely different? I have no idea. But I know I’m excited to do something new and I’m going to run with it because now I know how much that makes a difference in my getting things done.
